I briefly did a ketogenic diet without working out, and during that time shed lots of fat mass as well as some lean mass. I moved after residency and for the last 2.5 years have done very little.

I had access to a YMCA and did a mix of cardio and machines plus free weights when I could. This dropped off in medical school and I inconsistently worked out in residency. I can recall that my max bench was 295 lbs at 205 lbs bodyweight, and don’t recall my best squat weight. In high school I lifted consistently with sports (football, shot and discus) and continued in college. I am not attempting to cut currently, so my carb intake is not restricted. My diet is semi-strict I avoid a deficit but do not overeat, justing by my hunger how much calories I need and though I don’t strictly track macros I’m taking 35-40g whey after workouts and am close to 1 g/kg bodyweight protein intake daily. I sleep between 5-6 hours/night on average and get 7-8 hours/night on weekends.

I’m a full time physician, with about 50-60 hours of work a week average not counting being on-call. I’m 33 years old, father of 3 ages 4, 3, and 18 months. I'm likely to be slow in responding given lift/work demands, so bear with me as I'll try to respond as able. Some areas may be less organized, and I'm sure I'll make edits to distill it and more readable.
